    Manny, Expert Fish Hunter

Today I busted Manny eyeing the Parrot Fish collection that I have.  I have a feeling he is spending his waking hours scheming a plan to make the fish his lunch.  I'm not certain but I think I saw him drawing up blue prints of the tank and stashing them under the couch when I walked in the room.  But for now, Manny watches the fish, the fish watch Manny.  It's like an endless staring contest.  Cat vs. Fish.  I really hope that Manny doesn't intend to put his plan of attack into action anytime soon.  Or ever.

My crazy husband decided shortly after Athena adopted us that our kitten needed her own pets. So he went to the pet store and came home with four white mice -- two males, two females. He put them all in the same cage, fully aware of what would result. Now we have about 15 mice, sorted into different cages by gender.

Also as predicted, the mice are quite good at keeping Athena's attention. By now she's learned that jumping face first at the mice is not a smart idea (poor Athena!), but she still stares at them, tail twitching, for hours! When they were all in one cage, she used to jump on the lid and peer intently down at the little furballs. She even fell asleep up there a number of times!

Currently, all the cages (3 - the adult males are swinging bachelors) are stacked on top of each other. I call this setup the "Tower of Mice." The hubby calls it the MouseStation 2.

Do you hear the Mission Impossible music in the background? Manny contacted me for some "equipment". I disavow any and all knowledge of what he's going to use it for... but, it was a little kitty harness that he will be lowered from the ceiling with, a glass cutter, and a littttle tiny spear gun. Shhhhh you didn't hear it from me!

TBN: I finally convinced my landlord to let me have a cat but makes me promise that if there are any "messes" found on the carpet, I will have to replace it if I move. Sure, guy, no prob. One of the first things Manny did when I brought him home was mark his arrival on the living room carpet. Niiice. Shhh...don't tell my landlord!

Thanks for the comment on my site...and wow, you got a link to my site...how cool is that. I like your space. I had a cat once.....smoke. Oh the fun we had, until that fatefull day when the landlord found the cat turd. Had to take him out to the farm....I don't think he much cared for the farm cats. You can take the cat out of the city, but you can't take the city out of the cat.

Thanks for the comment on Graves'. I'm at the point when we are trying to get my meds so that I come back out of hyper. Almost there, I think....hope. My thyroid is completely dead now. Para-thyroids are fine though. This whole thing has been very weird... pretty painless, but weird! Anyway, thank you!

    God bless!
