2月20日 Cat SitterThe Husband and I went away this weekend and enlisted the help of The Twin to take care of Manny while we were away. I text messaged The Twin to see how everything was going on Saturday night:
To The Twin: How’s Manny doing? Is he behaving?
To Mannyed: Oops! I completely 4got! I will check on him now…
To The Twin: WHATTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!
To Mannyed: Just Kidding…I fed him, we hung out, and it went fine.
To Mannyed: BTW…Beware of the hidden messages…
To The Twin:???
To Mannyed: You’ll see.
>>Fast forward to Sunday night<< As I was driving home on the NJ Turnpike, I gave my brother a call to verbally discuss how cat sitting went. The Twin said that he walked in the apartment; Manny sniffed him and walked away and didn’t come out until he heard food hit his dish. They hung out for awhile; he ate my food; then left. So I asked him what they did while they were “hanging out”. He replied, “Mwahhahaha…you’ll see”.
So, The Husband and I finally got home. We walked inside and everything seemed in place. Manny came up and said hi, so we breathed a huge sigh of relief. Until I saw a post-it note left for me on my couch. It said:
“There are 62 of these post-it notes around the apartment…have fun”. !!OMG!! I took another step and picked a note off the floor. This one said “Manny was here”. The next one I found was on the coffee table sticking out of the Napoleon Dynamite DVD. That one said “Gosh!” (You need to see the movie to understand that one). The Husband and I started racing around the house looking for all 62 of the post it notes. They were left strategically all around the house. The cookie jar said “Need More Cookies”; the microwave said “Caution: Radiant Heat”. Nothing was left untouched. Manny’s litter box had a note, as well as his food and treats. My golf clubs had a post-it note attached to them, as well as The Husbands weights. The post it note on the weights said, “You wish you could lift these”. Every once in a while we come across one unexpected, like today when I found a note in the sugar bowl.
When I called to thank The Twin and to complement him on his "fine" cat sitting skills…he said, “anytime…I have tons more ideas where that came from….”
Uh, thanks, but next time I’m asking my mom to do the cat sitting honors. I just can't wait until he goes away and I have to watch his cat, Bailey. Revenge. 回應 (35)
