Since I am a first time cat owner...before Manny, I never realized how obsessive cats are.  Last night, I watched Manny partake in a 20-25 minute cleaning ritual, or maybe I should say cleaning obsession?  He started by licking his little paws to clean behind his ears (good boy!) followed by other areas of his neck, back and tail.  He painstakingly made sure that every inch of his fur was licked to a sparkling sheen. Not even his mouse toy could distract him from his primping and grooming.  His grooming got to the point that I was wondering if someone invited him to some swanky movie premier.  Twenty minutes into his grooming, I was positive that he was about to bring out a tux and tell me not to wait up.  I know this is just what cats do, but Manny is a boy so does this make him a...

 

Metrosexual?  Most of us already know that if a guy spends more time styling his hair and picking out his clothes than, lets say, his girlfriend does, he's gonna be labeled a metrosexual. The only thing that I don't see Manny doing is trying on clothes and buying products to keep his fur silky and smooth.  Sure, there are a lot of characteristics of a Metrosexual that Manny doesn't exhibit...but I'm at work during the days, how can I be sure?  All i know is that Manny invests a lot of time and energy into his fur.  Hmm. Not that this matters much, but I just never realized how obsessively clean cats are. I guess I should be glad that he uses his own water and doesn't hog the bathroom and use all the hot water.
