March 15 Laser TagOver the weekend, I bought Manny a little key chain laser light thingy. I found it at a pet supplies store and you can adjust the laser to make the dot turn into shapes such as a mouse, a star, and a smiley face.
I’ve been having so much fun pointing the red laser light and watching Manny chase it all around the house. He’s very agile and very intent on trying to catch the red dot. He chases his own tail, runs around the coffee table, and jumps on couches in order to pounce on the tricky red dot.
Last night as I was playing the laser dot game with Manny, The Husband got a little jealous and wanted to try. “Mannyed”, he whined, “Can I try, can I try, can I play with the laser…” so I finally relented and gave him a shot at the laser light. He had his fun and I lost interest in watching until I heard him giggling. When I looked over, I saw Manny sitting down watching American Idol and The Husband pointing the laser light at the cat's butt. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, my husband, was adjusting the laser beam so that a big smiley face was shining on his butt. He did it with the butterfly shape, the star shape, and the mouse shape. Manny would have freaked if he knew a “mouse” was reflecting of his butt. Actually, Manny did get a little pissed, but I think that was because he couldn’t figure out why we were laughing so hard. I have some pictures of the red dot shining on his cute little cat butt. You can’t really make out the shape, but its there. The only draw back with the laser is that after we finish playing, Manny insists on hunting it down. He stays alert, ears pointing, watching very closely for the mysterious red dot. He moves his head from left to right, right to left, looking out for the red dot. It makes me feel a little bad. *Snicker* Comments (39)
