    Four Eyed Manny

The other night as The Husband and I were getting ready for bed, The Husband discovered that the holder for his contact lenses were missing.  As contact wearers know, he needs to place his contacts in contact solution in a little round holder during the over night hours.  Well, on this particular night, The Husband was going crazy looking for his contact holder swearing up and down that he never moves the holder from its designated place and that he saw the holder in the morning . I just sat there amused as he looked all around the room searching for the holder that seemingly grew legs and walked off.  I commented that I thought it was funny that a person who depends on his contacts to see was not looking for the lenses themselves, but for the contact holder.  I made sure that the contacts were still in his eyes to rule out the possibility that maybe he forgot that he already took it out and that the holder was there, he just couldn't see it.  Well, that suggestion was met with a dirty look.  Out of desperation he started accusing Manny of taking the holder!!  ???  After I finished laughing, I asked him what a cat could possibly want with a contact lense holder.  I told him to get some sleep, because clearly he needed some.   The following night, I  was cleaning up the room, keeping an eye out for the missing holder.  Lo and behold, I found the contact lense holder. Under the bed.  You'll never guess who had it.

Hey... I have been here before!  (And I felt a tinge of deja vu when I posted recently.  Must be getting senile.)  Congrats on the 2nd time in the spotlight!  I'm heading over to vote for you now.  Buh-bye, Manny. ;)

I know exactly how that goes... My cat somehow managed to open my medicine cabinet and remove the contact lens case from the shelf. Nothing else was messed up in there, so I thought I had just misplaced the thing, until I actually caught th theif walking around (oh so proud) with it in his mouth. Cats are so devious. Love the blog!

My calico, Clara, doesn't go after my eyewear, thankfully, but she does have expensive taste. She likes my jewelry. She's stolen necklaces, rings, earrings, etc right from under my nose. If I leave a bracelet on the dresser after I get home, she'll dash into my room while I'm not looking, and BOOM, it's gone. I've found that she will not go after anything but sterling silver... I have no idea why. I'm glad to know, though, that I'm not the only one with a feline thief...

Athena, our calico kitten, is always hunting my 5-year-old daughter's troll dolls. Which is fine by my daughter, since she thinks the dolls are ugly anyway (they came in Happy Meals). Our best guess is that the troll doll hair reminds Athena of feathers -- she thinks she caught a bird! An ugly bird. She looks so proud of herself when the "hunt" is done and she's trotting off with the doll -- held in her teeth by its hair.

Athena also goes after anything that rolls. She's particularly fond of plastic Easter eggs, so much so that we still keep a few out for her.

I have a cat who steals my daughters pony tail holders.  She loves the little colored ones.  Tigress (she is an Abyssinian) gets them by standing on the bathroom counter bending down & opening the drawer & then reaches in & grabs them.  She then carries them all over the house where she plays with them by holding between her teeth & pulling with her claw to make it snap & fling.  Then she POUNCES!  She is a very amusing cat.   Abyssinians are very outgoing.  She talks a lot too.

Blurry morning hunts for my glasses aren't the best way to wake up. I have to keep them in a box now!

One of the first things my kittens swiped was my manual toothbrush. It is now one of their favorite toys. You were talking about the Christmas tree. We have a fake tree and it resembles one huge and very bristly brush so they proceeded to chew on it immediately. I wasn't worried about it at first. That was until they knocked the tree over and broke my new Tinkerbell tree topper.

Manny must be related to Smokie, the feline in our house who chases anything that isn't nailed down. Not a good pet in a home with kids who still play with Legos and Polly Pocket.
